Artwork

My work is a response to Nature and land, particularly the local flora. They have become my companions and allies helping me process and relate to my inner and outer worlds. Using natural colour and materials such as dyes and inks, I create intuitive pieces that symbolise this relationship using cloth, stitch, weave and paper. My practice is embodied as I notice and tune into the subtle colour and energy of plants and trees.

The labour intensive aspect of processing natural colours and preparing materials is recorded through photography and sampling which become part of the artworks. Heritage craft, sustainable and ethical methods are important in my practice which seeks to repair, rekindle and reclaim our connection to Nature.
